Tylön is a nature preserve located on the only island in southern Halland. It is characterized by its diverse ecosystems, predominantly consisting of heath and grassland. The area is notable for its rich birdlife, which is particularly sensitive during the breeding season. To protect the wildlife, access to the island is restricted from April 1 to July 15 each year.
The preserve features a historic lighthouse and keeper's houses, adding to its cultural significance. As part of a broader nature reserve, Tylön promotes conservation efforts and provides opportunities for nature observation and exploration. Visitors can find information regarding outdoor activities and rights, as well as educational resources about the local history and ecology of the area. The management of Tylön is overseen by Länsstyrelsen Halland, which focuses on environmental protection and sustainability.
