ForMAX is a laboratory located in Lund that specializes in time-resolved multiscale and multimodal structural characterization. The facility operates across a range of length scales from nanometers to millimeters, providing researchers with the capability to study materials and specialty chemicals in detail. The laboratory is funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation and receives support from Swedish industry through the Treesearch initiative.
The laboratory features an accessible beamline for research purposes, enabling various scientific studies and collaborations. ForMAX is involved in a range of projects, including the development of designer supramolecular hydrogels and research focused on nanoscience aimed at improving clean water solutions. Additionally, the laboratory conducts studies that target weaknesses in quick clays, utilizing X-ray data for analysis. Collaborative efforts with organizations such as Lantmännen have also led to research on wheat bran, further emphasizing the laboratory's commitment to advancing material science and its applications.
