Siko is a non-governmental organization based in Norrtälje, focused on advocacy for local residents in the Stockholm archipelago. The organization has been actively involved in environmental issues, notably halting plans for the dumping of dredged materials in Kanholmsfjärden. Siko aims to promote sustainable and vibrant communities within the islands and archipelagos, engaging in various initiatives that support this mission.
The organization participates in significant events such as Almedalen in Visby, scheduled for June 2025, and Landsbygdsveckan, which takes place from May 5 to 11. Siko collaborates with Svealands Kustvattenvårdsförbund to address coastal water management and supports youth and micro-funding initiatives through Leader Stockholmsbygds. Additionally, Siko encourages project ideas that contribute to the development of the archipelago and engages in research partnerships with Södertörns högskola and the Swedish Archipelago Association (SRF).
