Cookie Policy & Settings | Sweden Directory – GDPR

Last updated: November 12, 2025

This policy describes which cookies and similar technologies SverigesForetagsGuide uses and how you can manage them. Optional cookies (analytics, marketing) are set only after your active consent in accordance with the requirements of the Swedish regulator PTS and the Law on Electronic Communications (LEK).

1) Cookie categories

  • Strictly necessary — they provide basic functions: account login, form protection, navigation, and memorizing the choice in the consent banner. They are included without separate consent.
  • Analytical (Analytics / GA4) — traffic measurement, content/speed improvement. They are included only with your consent.
  • Marketing (Marketing / Google Ads) — showing relevant ads and measuring conversions. They are included only with your consent.

You can always change or revoke your consent in the "Cookieinstallningar / Cookiepolicy" section on the website.

2) Consent management

The following options are available in the banner: Accept all, Reject non‑essential, Manage/Save preferences. The rejection of optional cookies does not restrict the basic use of the site, which is consistent with PTS practice (example: analytical cookies should request consent and the lack of consent should not interfere with the use of the site).

3) List of cookies and domains

The names of technical cookies may vary depending on the platform. Below are the typical values. See the exact list in the developer's tools (Application/Storage → Cookies) or in the CMP interface.

A. Strictly necessary (always active)

B. Analytical (enabled only by consent) — Google Analytics 4

GA4 reports and event storage. Storage settings for 2 or 14 months (for standard properties) are available in GA4 for user/event data. We use the values specified in the account settings.

C. Marketing (enabled only by consent) — Google Ads/Marketing Platform

If you reject the Marketing category in the banner, these cookies are not set.

4) Technical journals and similar technologies

Minimal logs (IP/time/URL/response code) are generated on the hosting side for security and diagnostics. The typical shelf life is up to 90 days. These are not cookies, but we inform you about them for transparency (recording logs does not require your cookie consent, as this is strictly necessary for security).

5) International transfers

When using Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads, individual data may be processed outside the EEA (for example, in the USA). For such transfers, we rely on:

  • EU–US Data Privacy Framework (DPF) — for DPF certified recipients (for example, Google LLC declares DPF compliance), and/or
  • Standard Contractual Provisions (SCC) with additional measures. The European Commission decided on the adequacy of the DPF on July 10, 2023; the list of participants is available in the DPF registry.

Note: You may have seen in the news that in September 2025, the EU Court of Justice confirmed the validity of the DPF, which increased legal certainty for transatlantic data transfers.

6) Updates

We can update the list of cookies, retention periods, and CMP settings. The version date is shown at the top. Significant changes will be reflected in the banner and/or on this page.
