Posting & Moderation Rules | Sweden Directory
Last updated: November 12, 2025
This page explains what content can be published on SverigesForetagsGuide, what is prohibited, how moderation works, and how to file a complaint or appeal. We are guided by the Swedish Billboard Provider Benefits and Responsibilities Act (BBS‑lagen) and the EU Digital Services Act (DSA) requirements for platform notifications and actions.
Important: we do not post reviews. Only company cards and official forms are available ("Add company", "Correct error", contact).
What can be posted
- Materials that help users find and verify a business in Sweden are allowed:
- company information: name, organisationsnummer, address, website, phone number, opening hours, categories, brief description;
- the object's logo/photo (if you have the rights to use it);
- corrections of facts in existing cards (address, phone number, closure/relocation, etc.);
- contact details of the company representative (name/position/e‑mail), if you are authorized to publish them.
You can not publish personnummer and other sensitive data of individuals.
What is forbidden
We remove/block content if it:
- is illegal (threats, hate speech, slander, fraud, incitement to crime, etc.); this is the responsibility of the BBS‑lagen provider.
- violates other people's rights (copyrights/trademarks, trade secrets), contains malicious code, links to phishing/malware;
- discloses personal data of third parties without a legitimate reason (including e‑mail/phone numbers of individuals);
- misleading: making false statements about the company, faking business affiliation, impersonating another person;
- disguises advertising as "information" without clear labeling (see section 3).
Advertising and labeling (if you promote your business)
If your publication has an advertising purpose (including paid placement/barter/other remuneration), this should be immediately and clearly indicated: use the label "Annons" or equivalent next to the title/description. Hidden advertising is prohibited by Marknadsföringslagen; the sender and the commercial purpose must be obvious at a glance.
We reserve the right to mark the material as "Annons" or delete it in case of violation of the labeling rules.
Rights to the materials
By posting text/images/logos, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and grant us a non-exclusive license for publication and technical processing within the catalog. The complaints of the copyright holders are dealt with according to the procedure of §6.
How moderation works
- Prevention: automatic filters and manual check selectively.
- Post‑moderation: we respond to complaints ("notice & action") and to our own findings.
- Priority: illegal/risky items are removed as a matter of priority; controversial cases may be temporarily hidden until verification.
The obligation to maintain "reasonable supervision" and delete clearly illegal messages is established by BBS‑lagen; additionally, we implement DSA mechanisms to receive informed notifications and inform the parties about decisions.
Report a violation (Notice) and appeal (Action)
If you see a violation or believe that your rights have been violated:
What to send in the notification (according to DSA):
- The URL of the card/material;
- description of the violation and why it is illegal/violates rights (if possible, a link to the rule of law);
- your contact information;
- a statement of integrity and accuracy.
Where to send: sverigesforetagsguide@gmail.com (the fastest way) or the "Report a problem" form in the card.
Our actions: we will promptly check and, if necessary, delete/restrict the material and send a reasoned decision (statement of reasons) to the author and the applicant, as well as ways to appeal. This corresponds to art. 16 of the DSA.
Author's/company's appeal: If your material is rejected/deleted, write to sverigesforetagsguide@gmail.com with justification and documents. We will review the case again.
Falsifications and manipulations
Mass/scripted sending, cloaking, creating multiple cards for one business, impersonating a competitor, as well as data distortion (for example, "temporary" addresses for SEO) are prohibited. Such materials are deleted and accounts are blocked.
Working with companies
A business representative has the right to:
- confirm the card and update the facts;
- request correction/deletion of personal data of the contact person;
- provide an official response to the official moderation notification.
If the card contains personal information, we will depersonalize/delete the contact information upon request, while preserving the business facts.
Consequences of violations
We can restrict publication, hide/delete materials, temporarily suspend or close access to your account, block domains/addresses, and transfer materials to the competent authorities if there are signs of a crime.
Relation to other documents
These rules apply in conjunction with our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy. For publications with an advertising purpose, Marknadsföringslagen's explicit identification requirements apply. For notifications and moderation, there are DSA mechanisms and BBS‑lagen responsibilities.
