SK5AA Västerås Radioklubb is a non-profit organization established in 1943, dedicated to the promotion and practice of amateur radio. The club offers a range of services, including beginner courses aimed at introducing newcomers to the field of amateur radio. Members engage in various radio competitions and are actively involved in international events, such as the RPO VM 2025 scheduled to take place in Lithuania.
In addition to competitions, SK5AA provides QSL card services, which are essential for confirming two-way radio communications. The club hosts presentations and meetings, including the annual meetings of the Swedish Amateur Radio Society (SSA). Furthermore, SK5AA conducts investigations related to WSPR (Weak Signal Propagation Reporting) and participates in sprint and foxoring competitions, fostering a community of radio enthusiasts and encouraging participation in radio activities among newcomers.
