Fritidsbanken Lund is an outdoor sports store located in Lund, Sweden, that operates similarly to a library, allowing individuals to borrow sports and leisure equipment. Established in the autumn of 2019, it is managed by Lund Municipality and aims to promote community engagement in physical activities. The facility offers a diverse range of sports and recreational gear, catering to people of all ages.
The initiative encourages sustainable practices by facilitating the borrowing of equipment rather than purchasing it, which supports both local residents and visitors in enjoying outdoor activities. Fritidsbanken Lund is part of a broader network of leisure banks across Sweden, contributing to the accessibility of sports equipment and fostering a culture of physical activity within the community.
