Should you fly into Copenhagen Kastrup or Malmö Airport for Skåne?
Distances and transport from the two airports to Malmö, without ranking them.
Short answer
Kastrup is about 15 minutes from Malmö by train, while Malmö Airport lies 30 km from the city and the airport coach takes 40–50 minutes. The sources compare distance and transport only, so which airport suits you depends on your destination in Skåne and on the flights and fares you find.
Why

- Swedavia says Malmö Airport is located 30 kilometres from Malmö, and Vy flygbussarna gives the coach journey as approximately 40-50 minutes.
- Öresundståg publishes timetables from Copenhagen through Malmö to Lund, Hässleholm, Kristianstad and other places in Skåne.
Details

From Kastrup, Öresundståg trains go on to Malmö, Lund and other towns, and passengers entering Sweden face border controls. Visit Malmö adds that Malmö Airport has frequent daily flights to Stockholm. See Malmö/Copenhagen options, Malmö and Skåne and, for ID, open borders or border checks in Sweden.
Tip
Start from where you are going in Skåne, look up the train or coach in the operators' journey planners, and compare the door-to-door time and fare, not only the flight price. For the bridge and the trains, see the bridge and trains over the Øresund.
What may differ
The answer depends on your destination in Skåne, the airlines and fares available on your dates, and the time of day, because coach departures follow flight times.
