Short answer
Yes, Interrail passes work on trains in Sweden, but SJ high-speed trains and night trains require a paid seat reservation. - According to Interrail, a reservation on SJ high-speed trains costs EUR 7 in second class and EUR 17 in first class, and Interrail recommends booking about two months ahead.
- Snälltåget says that Interrail and Eurail passes valid in Sweden are accepted, with an extra fee for a reserved seat, berth or private compartment.
Details
To use the pass discount on an SJ ticket, Interrail says to choose the Interrail option on SJ's website and enter the Pass Cover Number. Common misconception
An Interrail pass lets you board any Swedish train without paying anything extra.
