How do you get from Malmö Airport (Sturup) to Malmö?
Coach route, stops, travel time and fares between Sturup and Malmö.
Short answer
The Vy flygbussarna airport coach runs between Malmö Airport (Sturup) and Malmö C, takes about 40–50 minutes depending on traffic and has fares from SEK 139. The airport is 30 km from Malmö, and Skånetrafiken runs between Svedala station and the airport, with trains to Svedala from Malmö, Lund and Helsingborg.
Why
- Swedavia says the Vy flygbussarna airport coach route is Malmö C-Malmö Airport and that Malmö Airport is located 30 kilometres from Malmö.
- Vy flygbussarna says the journey takes approximately 40-50 minutes depending on traffic and departure, with tickets from 139 kronor.
- Swedavia says Skånetrafiken runs between Svedala station and the airport, with trains to Svedala from Malmö, Lund and Helsingborg.
Details
The coach stops at Malmö C (stop K), Studentgatan, Triangeln, Södervärn, Persborg, Jägersro Center and Svedala E65 before the airport, and at the airport it stops to the right outside the terminal building. Departures are adapted to flight times. By taxi, Swedavia says prices are set freely and you should ask whether you can get a fixed price. For the city, see Malmö, air transport in Malmö and where to stay in Malmö.
Tip
Book the coach ticket online for the departure that matches your flight, and allow for 40-50 minutes plus the walk to Malmö C. For the other airport serving Skåne, see Malmö/Copenhagen options.
What may differ
The travel time depends on traffic and on the departure, and the page does not give a fixed timetable, only that departures follow the flights.
Common misconception
Trains run all the way to Malmö Airport.
What actually happens
Swedavia says Skånetrafiken runs between Svedala station and the airport, with trains only to Svedala, so a train journey needs a change there.
