Can you tap a contactless card on Västtrafik?

Short answer

Yes, you can tap a Visa or Mastercard on Västtrafik trams, boats and most buses with the contactless symbol in zone A, and it buys an adult single ticket. Foreign cards work if your bank has approved them for use in Sweden, and cards in a phone or smartwatch also work.

Details

Only one active ticket is allowed per payment card, and you must tap the same card on the same device again when you change vehicles. The payment is reserved at the first tap and charged the next day at the earliest, and there is no undo function, so contact customer service about a mistaken tap.
