Is there free parking near Liseberg?

What the official pages say about free and paid parking around Liseberg.

Short answer

Liseberg and Parkering Göteborg list no free car park near Liseberg, and the car parks within walking distance cost 30 to 32 kronor per hour. A City of Gothenburg report from August 2025 shows a low rate of 2 kronor per hour at other times for Taxa A on the street, not free parking.

Why

  1. Parkering Göteborg lists five car parks within 13 minutes' walk of Liseberg, all with hourly rates of 30 or 32 kronor.
  2. Liseberg's parking page describes the Södra and Focus car parks and does not mention any free parking.
  3. A City of Gothenburg staff report of 14 August 2025 describes the tariff Taxa A as 20 kronor per 30 minutes between 8 and 22, with 2 kronor per hour at other times.

Details

Street parking depends on the tariff area and the sign at the space, and the same report says the highest tariff was changed to apply also on Sundays and holidays after 2023. For car parks see parking facilities in Gothenburg, and for the park itself see our guide to Liseberg and museums.

Tip

Compare the place code on the sign with the code in your parking app before you start, because Parkering Göteborg warns that codes can differ between apps. For what a private parking charge means, see what happens after a Europark parking fine.

What may differ

Prices differ by area: Parkering Göteborg says that the more central the location, the higher the price. The report above is from 2025, so check the sign or the app for the tariff that applies today.

Common misconception

Parking in Gothenburg is free in the evening and on Sundays.

What actually happens

The city's August 2025 report shows a low rate of 2 kronor per hour at other times and says the highest tariff was changed to apply also on Sundays and holidays.
