Is there parking at Junibacken and how much does it cost?
The nearest paid lot, how to pay and the public transport alternatives.
Short answer
Junibacken has no car park of its own, but a paid lot with 100 spaces lies about 100 metres away, just after Djurgårdsbron. The lot takes card payments only, and Junibacken's page gives no price for it. Skansen's page on Djurgården says parking there is very limited.
Why
- Junibacken says it does not have its own car park, but there is a paid parking lot immediately to the right after Djurgårdsbron.
- Junibacken says the lot is about 100 metres away, has 100 spaces and that you can only pay by card there.
- Skansen, which is also on Djurgården, says parking options near it and on Djurgården are very limited.
Details
Junibacken names tram line 7 from T-Centralen and Sergels torg, with a stop called Nordiska Museet/Vasamuseet/Junibacken, and the Waxholmsbolaget Djurgården ferry from Slussen year round. For public transport in the city see our guide to urban transport, and for what a private parking charge means see what happens after a Europark parking fine.
Tip
Take tram line 7 or the Slussen ferry if you can, and carry a bank card if you park in the lot, since cash does not work there. Check the price at the lot because Junibacken's page does not state it.
What may differ
Skansen says that from 22 April to 30 September private cars are blocked from southern Djurgården on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays between 10:00 and 17:00, with exceptions for buses, taxis, disabled badge holders and permit holders. Check whether this affects your route.
Common misconception
You can drive up and park right outside Junibacken.
What actually happens
Junibacken says it has no car park of its own. The nearest paid lot has 100 spaces and is about 100 metres away.
