Short answer

Telia, Telenor and Tele2 each say they come out on top in a network test, so choose by coverage where you live and travel. PTS advises comparing each operator's coverage map online and testing the signal where you usually are.

Why

  1. Telia says in a press release of 15 January 2026 that it has Sweden's best mobile network according to umlaut 2025, with 970 of 1000 possible points.
  2. Telenor says it has Sweden's best mobile network according to Opensignal, as sole or shared winner in 11 of 14 categories (the page shows no date).
  3. Tele2 says it has the fastest 5G download speed in Sweden according to Opensignal's December 2025 report, with an average of 219 Mbit/s over 1 July to 28 September 2025.

Details

Bredbandskollen's Surfkartan map shows average measured mobile speeds for Telia, Telenor, Tre and Tele2 by network type and time period, based on user measurements, and is meant as a reference when choosing a subscription. PTS reports that in autumn 2025 basic mobile coverage reached 90 percent of Sweden's total area.
