How do you check your remaining data and balance on a Swedish SIM?
Codes, apps and online accounts for Comviq and Telia.
Short answer
You check your balance on a Swedish prepaid card by dialling a code, such as *111# at Comviq or *120# at Telia, or in the operator's app or online account. Comviq also shows the surf you have left in Mitt konto and in its app.
Why
- Comviq says you can check your balance in Mitt Konto and the Comviq app, or by keying in *111# on your phone and pressing call.
- According to Comviq, you see your surf in Sweden and the EU/EEA, saved surf and daily usage in Mitt konto or the app, and you get an SMS when the surf runs out.
- Telia says the code *120# shows your balance, pots and price plan, and that the balance is also shown in Mitt Telia once the card is registered.
Details
Comviq says that when you use mobile data, part of your balance is reserved for surf. Telia lists more codes for packages with a validity period, such as annual cards and Refill surf cards. Operators are listed under telecom and internet providers in Stockholm.
Tip
Save the code for your operator in your notes before you travel. Planning a trip? See planning and entry to Sweden for what else to arrange.
What may differ
Codes and apps differ by operator, and the SIM must be registered before it appears in Mitt Telia. Check your operator's help page if the code above does not work.
Common misconception
You have to call customer service or visit a shop to see your balance.
What actually happens
Comviq and Telia both describe checking the balance yourself, with a code on the phone or in the operator's app and online account.
