Short answer

None of the official sources checked ranks shops by snus price, but the state tax on snus is SEK 435 per kilogram for every brand in 2026. The rate was SEK 432 per kilogram in 2025. Only people aged 18 or over may buy tobacco products, and sellers must check age. This topic is for adults aged 18 and over.

Why

  1. According to Skatteverket, tobacco tax on snus is SEK 435 per kilogram from 1 January 2026, up from SEK 432 in 2025.
  2. According to the Public Health Agency of Sweden (Folkhälsomyndigheten), only people aged 18 or over may buy tobacco products, and sellers must check the buyer's age in shops, vending machines and online.
  3. Skatteverket's rate table gives the tax per kilogram, so it follows the weight of the product and not the brand.

Details

Tax is only part of the price, and none of the official pages checked list what a shop charges for snus, so no shop or price is named here. SEK 435 per kilogram equals SEK 43.50 of tax per 100 grams (calculated from the Skatteverket rate). Chapter 5, section 17 of the Tobacco Act bans selling tobacco products in business to anyone under 18. Stores that sell tobacco in Stockholm are listed in the tobacco and vape store directory.

Tip

Compare the price and the weight on the tin or shelf label in the shop you are in, and bring ID, because sellers must check your age.
