Short answer

Yes, Arlanda Express offers a student discount, but according to its customer service FAQ it is at present available only via Mecenat. The ordinary price list is also lower for youths aged 18–25, who pay SEK 199 one way on the Full flex fare, compared with SEK 349 for adults.

Why

  1. Arlanda Express answers the question about student discounts with: yes, but at present only via Mecenat.
  2. Arlanda Express lists the youth fare (ages 18–25) at SEK 199 one way and SEK 358 return on the Full flex fare.
  3. Arlanda Express also sells Early bird tickets at SEK 199 one way for adults, youths, pensioners and children if booked at least five days ahead.

Details

The FAQ refers students to the Mecenat website and does not state the size of the discount. Youth ticket holders must be able to prove their eligibility on board. Tip

If you are aged 18–25, compare the youth fare of SEK 199 with the Mecenat student discount before you buy, and bring ID because Arlanda Express requires proof of eligibility on board.

What may differ

The discount depends on age and ticket type: pensioners aged 65 and over (ID required) also pay SEK 199 one way, and children travelling with a ticket holder aged 26 or older travel free.

Common misconception

Any student card gives a discount at the Arlanda Express ticket desk.

What actually happens

Arlanda Express states that the student discount is at present available only via Mecenat.
