Is there an ATM or cash deposit machine at Arlanda?
Where the Forex machines are, which currencies they pay out and what is not confirmed.
Short answer
Yes, Arlanda has cash machines run by Forex, including one after security in Terminal 5 between gate areas E and F and one in the Terminal 5 departure hall. The airside machine pays out SEK, EUR, GBP and USD, and the departure-hall one EUR, USD and THB. No cash deposit machine appears on the Forex or Swedavia pages checked.
Why
- Forex says its yellow machine in Terminal 5 is after security control in the passage between gate areas E and F, and lists it as always open.
- Forex says the machine in the Terminal 5 departure hall is before security, by the lifts to Arlanda Express, and that currency availability varies with demand.
- Swedavia says Forex offers currency exchange at Arlanda and lists currency ATMs where you can withdraw Swedish currency.
Details
Swedavia lists Forex exchange offices in the Terminal 2 departure hall (daily 05:00–20:00), SkyCity, and in Terminal 5 both before and after security, with different hours. Leftover currency can be exchanged back without a fee on presentation of a receipt. For limits on carrying cash across the border, see how much cash you can take into or out of Sweden without declaring it; for paying in Sweden, see payments by card, Swish and cash.
Tip
Check which currency the machine pays out before you use it: the airside machine in Terminal 5 and the departure-hall machine list different currencies.
What may differ
Currency availability varies with demand, and Forex lists different hours for its exchange offices in each terminal, for example Terminal 2 daily 05:00–20:00 and the Terminal 5 Marketplace weekdays 04:30–21:00.
Common misconception
Sweden is cashless, so you cannot get cash at the airport.
What actually happens
Forex runs currency exchange and cash machines at Arlanda, and Swedavia says you can exchange money and withdraw cash there.
