How much does home internet cost in Sweden?
Median prices from PTS and current examples from providers.
Short answer
Fibre broadband had a median price of SEK 399 a month for 100/100 Mbit/s and SEK 603 for 1000/1000 Mbit/s in 2023, according to PTS. Providers set current prices on their own sites: Tre, for example, listed 5G home broadband at SEK 399 and SEK 499 a month on 28 October 2026.
Why
- According to PTS (price report published 3 October 2024), the median price of fibre at 100/100 Mbit/s was SEK 399 a month in 2023, and 1000/1000 Mbit/s fell from SEK 699 in 2022 to SEK 603.
- PTS says the most common fixed broadband subscriptions became more expensive between 2018 and 2023, while mobile subscriptions became cheaper, with a median of SEK 259 a month in 2023.
- Telia lists its 1000/1000 Mbit/s fibre plan at SEK 499 a month as a campaign price for new customers, against an ordinary price of SEK 899, and charges SEK 59 per paper invoice.
Details
The monthly price depends on speed, technology, provider and campaign. Tre lists 5G home broadband at SEK 399 for up to 150 Mbit/s and SEK 499 for up to 1000 Mbit/s with no binding period, and Telia offers up to SEK 100 a month off when you combine broadband with a mobile subscription (both checked 28 October 2026). Tip
Compare the ordinary price and not only the campaign price, and check what the plan costs after the offer ends and whether a paper invoice adds a fee. Telia, for example, lists SEK 499 as a campaign price against SEK 899 as the ordinary price.
What may differ
In a rented flat the cost can differ: Hyresgästföreningen says tenants pay SEK 200–300 more per month for broadband than people in tenant-owned housing, and suggests comparing providers and considering mobile broadband, which it calls often cheaper.
Common misconception
Internet prices in Sweden keep getting cheaper.
What actually happens
PTS found that the most common fixed broadband subscriptions became more expensive between 2018 and 2023, while mobile subscriptions became cheaper. The median price of 1000/1000 Mbit/s fibre did fall, from SEK 699 in 2022 to SEK 603 in 2023.
