The Swedish Maritime Robotics Centre (SMaRC) is dedicated to research and product development in the field of maritime robotics and underwater technology. The center is supported by various initiatives from the Swedish industry and governmental authorities, which aim to advance the capabilities and applications of robotics in marine environments. SMaRC plays a significant role in fostering innovation and collaboration among researchers, industry partners, and academic institutions.
In addition to its research activities, SMaRC hosts events such as the KTH Underwater Technology Day, which brings together experts and stakeholders to discuss advancements in the field. The center also offers distinguished lectures focused on maritime robotics and ocean exploration, providing a platform for knowledge exchange. Furthermore, SMaRC facilitates PhD defenses and academic presentations, contributing to the academic community and promoting the next generation of underwater robot research. Through these efforts, SMaRC aims to enhance the understanding and development of technologies that can be applied in ocean exploration and marine robotics.
