The Archipelago Foundation in Stockholm County is dedicated to creating accessible and sustainable environments within the Stockholm archipelago. The foundation manages ownership of 40 areas in the archipelago, focusing on both development and preservation initiatives aimed at benefiting future generations. This includes various projects that promote sustainable tourism and recreational activities while ensuring the protection of the sensitive ecosystems of the Baltic Sea.
In addition to its conservation efforts, the foundation engages in nature conservation measures, such as the installation of buoys, and undertakes restoration projects, including the lighthouse on Huvudskär. The foundation also offers opportunities for booking accommodations in the archipelago and provides farm leases for interested parties. Public involvement and support are encouraged to enhance conservation efforts and foster a collective commitment to preserving the natural beauty and ecological integrity of the region.
