How much do petrol and diesel cost in Sweden?
List prices published by fuel companies, with the date they apply.
Short answer
St1 published list prices of about SEK 18 per litre for petrol 95 and about SEK 24 for diesel on 28 October 2026, including VAT. These are list prices for business cards, and Circle K says the current price is the one on the local station's price sign.
Why
- St1 lists petrol 95 at SEK 17.64, petrol 98 at SEK 18.94, E85 at SEK 15.09 and diesel at SEK 23.84 per litre including VAT in its list prices for 28 October 2026.
- Preem lists petrol 95 at SEK 17.64 and diesel at SEK 23.84 per litre from 27 October 2026 for company and transport cards, and says a customer's discount is deducted from these prices.
- Circle K says it has voluntarily removed the prices from its website and that the current price can be seen on the local station's price sign.
Details
St1's page also mentions a temporary reduction in fuel tax on petrol and diesel from 1 July 2026, so prices can change when tax rules change. St1 prices take effect at 00:01 on the stated date. Tip
Check the price sign at your own station before you fill up, because list prices are reference prices for business cards and the sign shows the price at that station.
What may differ
Prices differ by fuel and company: St1 lists E85 at SEK 15.09 per litre, and Preem lists compressed biogas and natural gas for vehicles (CBG) at SEK 30.39 per kg since 23 July 2026.
