Why

  1. According to the Swedish Migration Agency (Migrationsverket), the fee is EUR 90 for a person aged 12 or older and EUR 45 for children aged 6 to 11.
  2. According to the Swedish embassy's page for Türkiye, the visa fee is not refunded if the application is denied or withdrawn, and children under 6 are exempt from the visa fee.
  3. The Swedish embassy pages show that service fees differ by country: VFS Global charges EUR 14 per application in Türkiye (valid as of 8 June 2026) and EUR 19 in India.

Details

The VFS Global service fee is charged on top of the visa fee, and in Türkiye it is also charged for children who pay no visa fee. Where you apply decides the exact amount, so check the embassy page for the country where you submit your application.

Tip

Check the fee page of the embassy or visa centre in your country before you book your appointment, since the service fee is paid separately from the visa fee.

What may differ

Citizens of some countries pay a lower fee under EU visa facilitation agreements, and some groups are exempt from the fee, such as students and researchers travelling for study.
