Hotels in Gothenburg: 7 hotels by the Central Station, in the western centre and at Liseberg

This page lists seven hotels in Gothenburg: four by the Central Station and Drottningtorget square, two in the western part of the centre and one next to the Liseberg amusement park. It helps you choose a location by how you arrive and what you plan to do in the city: every hotel has an address, a phone number and a short description, and the link to the hotel's website is in the card.

How to choose a location: the station, the western centre or Liseberg

  • Arriving by train: the four hotels in the first group lie within about 600 metres of Drottningtorget, measured in a straight line.
  • Staying among shops and restaurants: the hotels in the western centre are 700 metres to just over a kilometre from Drottningtorget.
  • Going to Liseberg: one hotel stands next to the amusement park, a little over two kilometres from Drottningtorget.
  • This page is a selection: the rest of the hotels are in the catalogue.

The groups are split by location, because location is what differs most for someone staying one or two nights. The hotels in the first group are on Drottningtorget, the square in front of the Central Station, and in the streets next to it: Drottninggatan, Södra Hamngatan and Vikingsgatan. How long the walk is depends on which exit you take from the station and how much luggage you have.

In the second group, two hotels are in the western centre, on Västra Hamngatan and Stora Badhusgatan, and one is next to Liseberg. Measured on the map, the first two are about 700 metres and just over a kilometre from Drottningtorget in a straight line, and the hotel by the amusement park is a little over two kilometres away. With suitcases that distance is too far to walk for most people: plan on public transport or a taxi.

The hotels on this page are a selection. The catalogue category Hotels & Resorts has about seventy cards. Guides on other topics are collected under Rating of popular places.

Before you book: times, cancellation, breakfast and payment

  • Check-in: from 3 pm or 4 pm. Check-out: by 11 am or 12 noon.
  • Cancellation: the deadline follows the rate you choose, not the hotel.
  • Breakfast: included at some hotels and an extra at others.
  • Payment: at least three of the hotels do not accept cash.

At the hotels on this page that state the times on their websites, check-in starts at 3 pm or 4 pm and check-out is by 11 am or 12 noon (October 2026). Four of the seven hotels say their reception is staffed around the clock. A staffed reception does not mean the room is ready earlier: if you arrive in the morning, ask in advance whether you can leave your bags.

Cancellation rules follow the rate. Flexible rates can be cancelled free of charge up to a deadline, which at the hotels on this page falls between 4 pm on the day before arrival and 2 pm on the day of arrival. Discounted rates are often prepaid and are not refunded. Packages with dinner or admission have longer deadlines: three or four days before arrival at two of the hotels. The terms for your own booking are in the confirmation.

At least three of the hotels are cash-free: you pay by card, and some also take the Swish app or Klarna. Bring ID for check-in. Breakfast is included in the room rate at some hotels and is an extra with its own price at others, so compare what is included and not only the price per night.

With children, a dog or a car

  • With children: one hotel stands next to Liseberg and has rooms with a view of the park.
  • With a dog: the rules range from dogs for a fee to no animals at all.
  • With a car: parking costs extra, SEK 250 to 395 per day by the station in October 2026.

The hotel next to Liseberg is aimed at families with children: according to its card in the catalogue, it has rooms with a view of the amusement park, and a breakfast buffet is included. Park admission is included only if the offer you book says so. The hotel requires the person booking to be at least 18, and at least 25 for some room categories. One of the hotels by the station has family rooms for four, but also small rooms without a window, and the room category tells you which is which.

There is no common rule for dogs. One hotel on this page accepts up to two dogs in certain rooms for a fee of SEK 300 per dog and stay, while another does not accept animals at all (the hotels' websites, October 2026).

Parking is not included in the room rate. At three hotels by the station it cost between SEK 250 and 395 per day in October 2026, at the hotel or in a car park nearby, and not all of them take advance bookings.
