This page covers second-hand shops in Malmö: around Davidshall and along Södra Förstadsgatan, by Triangeln, in Möllevången, and in Slottsstaden and on Sallerupsvägen. It shows what separates a charity shop from a vintage shop, a children's shop selling on commission and a shop with retro furniture: each card gives the address and a short description, and the map further down shows where the shop is.

How to choose: charity shop, vintage or commission
- Charity shops: donated goods, a mixed range and a surplus that goes to the work of the organisation.
- Vintage shops: selected garments, for example jeans, sweatshirts and sportswear from the 1990s.
- Commission: you hand things in, the shop sells them and you get a share of the profit.
- Retro furniture: furniture and interiors from the 1950s, 60s and 70s in a shop in Slottsstaden.
Most shops on this page are run by aid organisations and sell what people have donated. That is why the range is mixed: clothes and shoes, books, glass and china, and in some shops furniture. According to the shops' own websites the surplus goes to development aid projects, to social work or to work for children's rights (October 2026).
The vintage shops select their garments instead. The shop at Södra Förstadsgatan 41 says it has over 15,000 items, among them jeans, sweatshirts and sportswear from the 1990s, and the shop on Davidshallsgatan belongs to a British vintage chain that opened its first shop in Manchester in 1994. The charity shop on level 2 of the Triangeln shopping centre also focuses on retro, vintage and branded clothes.
In Slottsstaden two specialised shops share one street, Lundbergsgatan. One sells clothes, shoes and toys for children up to ten years of age on commission, the other retro furniture and interiors from the 1950s, 60s and 70s. The retro shop also buys parts of households and rents out furniture and props to stylists and estate agents.
The page is a selection. More addresses are in the directory category Second-hand shops, facts about the city are on the Malmö page, and guides to other kinds of shops are under Shopping.
Opening hours: Sundays, weekday evenings and shops with few open days
- Sundays: six shops are open, all on Södra Förstadsgatan or in the Triangeln shopping centre.
- Weekday evenings: until 7 or 8 pm from the northern end of the street down to Triangeln.
- Mondays: the shop on Sallerupsvägen is closed but accepts donations.
- Few open days: the retro shop in Slottsstaden opens on Thursday and Saturday.
Along Södra Förstadsgatan you can shop second hand every day of the week. The charity shops at number 14 and number 40 are open from 11 am to 7 pm on weekdays, and on Saturdays the first closes at 5 pm and the second at 6 pm. The vintage shop at number 41 and the shop on level 2 of the Triangeln shopping centre are open from 10 am to 8 pm on weekdays and from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturdays and Sundays (the shops' websites, October 2026).
On Sundays the shops open later or close earlier. By Möllevångstorget one shop is open from 10 am to 3 pm and another from noon to 4 pm, while the shop by Folkets park is closed. The shops at numbers 14 and 40 open at noon and close at 4 pm and 5 pm respectively.
Outside the centre the shops have fewer open days. The shop on Sallerupsvägen is closed on Sunday and Monday and open Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. The retro shop in Slottsstaden is open on Thursday from 4 to 6 pm and on Saturday from noon to 3 pm and otherwise receives customers by arrangement, and the children's shop in the same street was closed for the summer from 28 June to 11 August 2026.
Handing in and selling: donations, furniture and commission
- Donations: handed in at the shop during opening hours, whole and clean.
- Furniture: not accepted everywhere, so ask before you carry it there.
- Collection: one organisation collects donations in the city free of charge, another does not collect at all.
- Getting paid: the children's shop sells on commission, the retro shop buys.
The charity shops accept donations over the counter. At one of the shops by Möllevångstorget you hand in whole and clean things during opening hours, but furniture is referred to the same organisation's shop on Ystadvägen, and the organisation has a van that collects donations in the city free of charge. The shop by Folkets park does not accept furniture, electronics, prams, child car seats or helmets and does not collect from the donor's home (the shops' websites, October 2026).
On Sallerupsvägen the donation desk keeps its own hours: Monday from 11 am to 4.30 pm and Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 4.30 pm, so also on Monday when the shop is closed. The organisation behind the shop in the Triangeln shopping centre accepts donations in all its shops and also has a reception point at its outlet on Botildenborgsvägen.
If you want to be paid for what you hand in, the options are commission or purchase. The children's shop in Slottsstaden sells for you and shares the profit with you, and the retro shop in the same street buys furniture and interiors. The other shop by Möllevångstorget, which also sells online, has a page of its own for handing in goods on its website.
