Which group suits you

The table is meant for three kinds of visit: a quick burger between two errands in the centre, an evening with a booked table, and a meal where the meat must be halal or the burger vegan.

National chain, smaller chain or alone at the address

• National chains: the three in Gamla staden and by Triangeln, from some twenty towns up to 67 restaurants.
• Smaller chains: at Kronprinsen, in Dockan, in Söderkulla and in Jägersro.
• Alone at their address: craft burgers in Möllevången and seven burgers in Hyllie.
• The meat: Swedish beef, grass-fed and organic, or veal ground the same day, depending on the restaurant.

The three restaurants in the first group are parts of national chains. The chain on Kalendegatan states 67 restaurants in the country, smash burgers of Swedish beef and what it calls Sweden's largest vegan range. The chain in the Hansa shopping arcade lists some forty restaurants and sells pizza and salads alongside its smash burgers, and the chain on Södra Förstadsgatan by Triangeln started in 2020 as a food truck and is now in some twenty towns (the chains' websites, October 2026).

Outside the centre the chains are smaller. The restaurant in Kronprinsen has sisters in Gothenburg, Helsingborg and Kungsbacka, the one in Jägersro in Helsingborg and Båstad, and the one in Söderkulla has one more kitchen in Lund. In Jägersro the burgers have been made from scratch since 2018, and in Dockan the meat is described as Swedish, grass-fed and organic.

Two places stand on their own. On Claesgatan in Möllevången craft burgers are served, and in the Emporia shopping centre in Hyllie the menu consists of seven burgers of veal that is ground on site every day and cooked medium well.

Ordering, booking a table and hours

• App and web: the chains in the centre take orders in their own app or on their own page.
• A booked table: at Kronprinsen, through a booking service.
• No booking: the chain on Kalendegatan takes no table bookings.
• Delivery service or collection: in Hyllie and in Dockan.

At the chains in the centre the guest usually handles the order. The chain on Kalendegatan has its own app and ordering page and, according to its frequently asked questions, takes neither table bookings nor cash: you come as you are. The chains in Hansa and by Triangeln each have an ordering page online and also sell the food for collection.

If the party is to sit down at a set time, Kronprinsen is the clear choice. The restaurant there has table booking through a booking service, lunch from 11 am to 2 pm on weekdays and opens again from 4 pm or 5 pm, on Saturdays noon to 10 pm and on Sundays noon to 8 pm (the restaurant website, October 2026). The kitchen closes half an hour before the room.

Further out it is more about collecting or having the food delivered. In Hyllie you can eat in, collect or order through a delivery service, in Jägersro and in Möllevången there is online ordering, and in Dockan food for collection is sold through an app.

The opening hours differ. On Kalendegatan it is open from 11 am to 10 pm and until midnight on Friday and Saturday, in Söderkulla from 11 am to 10 pm on weekdays and from noon at weekends, and in Emporia every day from 10 am to 8 pm.

Vegan, halal, gluten and children

• Vegan: the chain on Kalendegatan has vegan versions of several burgers.
• Halal: the restaurant on Claesgatan states 100 per cent halal.
• Gluten: gluten-free bread is mentioned by two chains, and one of them states that the kitchen is shared.
• Children: a children's burger in Söderkulla, a children's menu up to the age of 12 at Kronprinsen.

Vegan burgers are found above all at the chain on Kalendegatan, where the restaurant's menu shows several burgers in both a meat version and a vegan one. The vegan patties are fried on a surface of their own according to the chain, but everything deep-fried goes into the same fryer and the same oil, and there is no separate kitchen for gluten-free food.

The chain at Kronprinsen writes in its general questions and answers about halloumi, five vegan options and gluten-free bread. That applies to the chain as a whole, and the menus differ between its restaurants, so ask what is served at this address. In Söderkulla the burger with grilled cheese also contains cheddar, and one of the burgers on the menu is sold only in Lund.

Halal is stated expressly by the restaurant on Claesgatan, which writes 100 per cent halal on its website. For children there is a burger of their own in Söderkulla and on Kalendegatan, and the chain at Kronprinsen has a children's menu for children up to the age of 12.
