Korean restaurants in Gothenburg: 7 places from Nordstaden and the Långgatan streets to Mölndalsvägen and Hisingen

This page lists Korean restaurants in Gothenburg: kitchens with a grill at the table, Korean home cooking and street food, and also Asian restaurants that have Korean dishes on the menu. It helps you choose between grilling yourself, having bibimbap for lunch and sharing small dishes in the evening: every card gives the address, and the map further down shows where the restaurant is.

Table grill or a finished dish: two ways to eat Korean

  • On Sankt Eriksgatan the guests grill meat and vegetables themselves at the table.
  • The same restaurant has an à la carte menu with Korean dishes and steaks on hot stone.
  • When booking you choose between a grill table and an à la carte table.
  • The grill table cannot be booked for vegetables only.

Korean barbecue at the table is offered at one place in this guide, on Sankt Eriksgatan in Nordstaden. The guests grill meat and vegetables themselves at their table, and the restaurant keeps the grill and the à la carte menu apart as two different experiences (website read on 7 October 2026). Grill tables are booked for parties of any size, including two people, but every guest at the table has to choose a grill dish.

À la carte is the other track in the same house: steaks seared on a volcanic stone heated to 400 degrees, and Korean dishes such as japchae with entrecôte, bulgogi, bibimbap, fried chicken and a spicy kimchi stew. The restaurant itself says that its vegan options are few and that the grill table cannot be booked for vegetables only. Baby chairs are available.

The three other Korean kitchens serve finished dishes. On Norra Allégatan by Järntorget the food is made from scratch in a family-owned restaurant whose chef trained in South Korea. On Andra Långgatan, where the restaurant has been since spring 2009, bulgogi, bibimbap and kimchi jjigae are on the menu alongside Japanese dishes. On Mölndalsvägen south of the centre it is street food: corn dogs, tteokbokki, fried chicken and bibimbap.

The Korean places are listed in the directory under Asian restaurants and sushi bars. General facts about the city are on the Gothenburg page, and other food guides are collected under Restaurants and cafés.

Lunch and open days: what applies when

  • Weekday lunch is available at five of the seven places.
  • On Norra Allégatan lunch is drop-in only, Tuesday to Friday 11.30 to 14.
  • On Mondays all four Korean kitchens are closed according to their opening hours.
  • On Sundays three places are open: on Sankt Eriksgatan, Andra Långgatan and Herkulesgatan.

Weekday lunch can be had at five of the seven places (the restaurants' own information, read on 7 October 2026), but the arrangement differs. On Norra Allégatan lunch is served Tuesday to Friday from 11.30 to 14, and it is drop-in only: tables cannot be booked. There is a dish of the day, for example japchae with chicken on Wednesdays and bibimbap with chicken on Fridays, and always bibimbap with bulgogi or with tofu as well.

On Sankt Eriksgatan the lunch menu states weekdays from 11 to 14, with coffee and rice crackers with the meal, while the opening hours on the same website say that Monday is closed. The street food place on Mölndalsvägen is, according to its page with an ordering service, open Tuesday to Friday from 11.30 to 14 and again from 16 to 20.30. On Herkulesgatan on Hisingen and by Kungstorget the restaurants open at 11 on weekdays.

Two places are evening restaurants. On Andra Långgatan the restaurant opens at 17 Wednesday to Friday and at 13 at the weekend, and the kitchen closes one hour before closing time. On Aschebergsgatan in Vasastaden the restaurant opens at 17 Tuesday to Thursday and at 16 on Fridays and Saturdays.

On Mondays all four Korean kitchens are closed, as is the restaurant on Aschebergsgatan; the places on Herkulesgatan and by Kungstorget are open then. On Sundays three are open: on Sankt Eriksgatan and Herkulesgatan from 12 and on Andra Långgatan from 13. The hours on the directory cards do not always match the restaurants' own, so go by the hours on the website.

Bibimbap, kimchi and fried chicken: where the dishes are

  • Bibimbap is served at five of the places, with meat, salmon, shrimp, chicken or tofu.
  • Korean-style fried chicken can be taken away from Aschebergsgatan.
  • On Norra Allégatan soy sauce containing gluten is used in the cooking.
  • Takeaway is ordered online or by phone, depending on the place.

Bibimbap, a bowl of rice with vegetables and meat or tofu, is the dish that comes back most often: all four Korean kitchens have it, and so does the sushi restaurant on Herkulesgatan, where it is made with beef, salmon or tofu.

The second group consists of Asian restaurants where Korean food is one part of the menu. On Herkulesgatan it is first of all sushi and ramen, with bibimbap and kimchi on the side. On Aschebergsgatan the restaurant describes its dishes as inspired by Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia, and Korean-style fried chicken is the first thing its website puts forward; it is also sold as takeaway. By Kungstorget the restaurant presents Japanese and Korean dishes and ramen.

For those who avoid gluten or eat vegan there are a few clear statements. On Norra Allégatan soy sauce containing gluten is used in the cooking. On Andra Långgatan the restaurant points to a wide range of vegetarian and vegan dishes, while the grill restaurant on Sankt Eriksgatan asks guests with allergies to speak to the staff.

Takeaway works differently from place to place. On Norra Allégatan the food is ordered by phone in advance, on Andra Långgatan, Herkulesgatan and by Kungstorget online, and the street food place on Mölndalsvägen takes orders through an ordering service. Tables are booked online on Sankt Eriksgatan, Norra Allégatan and Andra Långgatan, and the restaurant on Aschebergsgatan recommends booking, especially on evenings and weekends.
